Reminders

Just a little friendly reminder that we have a 24 hour fever free rule at Summit!  Also, we would appreciate if you would extend that rule to 24 hours symptom free as well especially in a situation of vomiting or diarrhea.  We have a lot of children in a small space and we seem to be passing around a lot of germs!  We are diligent about disinfecting, but in spite of our best efforts, we’re seeing an unusually high amount of illnesses this year.  Thanks!

Math

Ms. Jill’s group:  We are working on writing and recognizing numbers to 25. We are working really hard on writing addition sentences as well. After lesson 25, we are going to spend a little time in “review mode” making sure everyone can write, recognize and order numbers to 25. We are also going to make sure that everyone can easily write a number sentence to go with a corresponding story.  We’ll be practicing the doubles everyday, so keep singing the “doubles rap” in the car!  It’s helping!

Ms. Jessica and Ms. Janna’s group:  We are learning how to count money up to 10 cents and playing store to purchase items to reinforce the skills we are learning.

Literacy

Ms. Jill’s group:  We are finishing up the letter N and getting ready to move on to M. We will spend the rest of the week reviewing previous letter sounds and making sure everyone can write both the uppercase and lowercase versions of each letter.

Ms. Jessica and Ms. Janna’s group: We met Mr. B and his beautiful buttons and are getting ready to meet our new letter light I.

**Don’t forget, when your child is practicing writing his/her name at home, the only letter that should be capital is the first one. Please help us reinforce this!  Thanks!

Science

Talking about exercising to keep our bodies healthy.
